Full Time Maintenance & Repair Worker

Key Responsibilities:

Operations:
  • Evening Shift 2pm
  • Assist with setting up and removal of audio/visual equipment
  • Responsible for completion of all maintenance service requests as assigned
  • Assure safety standards are used which comply with all company and government regulations and policies
  • Perform minor building, electrical, plumbing, painting etc. repairs as necessary
  • Completing other tasks as assigned by Supervisor, Building Operations Manager
Skills/Abilities
  • Time Management: Ability to allocate one’s time effectively and manage tight dead lines.
  • Work under pressure and achieve quality results
  • Ensure operational records are accurate and maintained
  • Excellent customer service skills when dealing with customers
  • Physically able to carry out all necessary duties (example but not limited to paint, clean, bending, stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling and lifting up to 50lbs)
  • Must work well within a team environment and be able to self manage
Experience
  • 5th class ticket preferred
  • Audio/Visual experience preferred
  • 2 years experience in building maintenance
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Houseperson

Houseperson/Labourer
  • Clean designated areas including, but not limited to, restrooms, public areas, offices and banquet/meeting/conference rooms
  • Perform tasks including, but not limited to, dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, shampooing carpets, washing windows, cleaning/waxing floors, removing and disposing of trash and emptying ashtrays
  • Setup of all function/meeting rooms according to the banquet event order and Club Standards. Including moving tables, chairs, podiums etc.
  • Be able to lift to a maximum of 50 pounds
  • Properly stock all convention equipment in appropriate stores as per Club standards
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment, and actively participate in health and safety initiatives
  • Report maintenance deficiencies and items in need of repair
  • The Houseperson is a mix of custodial, housekeeping, and customer service.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Good interpersonal skills are necessary and work well as part of a team
  • Proficient in oral and written English
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
